Universal-SIM Standard V610 Update

January 15th, 2009 · 2 Comments

Hello,

I am happy to announce the first release in 2009 of Universal-SIM Software Update!

What’s new in version V610:

- Solved some Universal-SIM stability problems that caused the phone to display insert sim after a while

- Modified custom presets configuration to fit the NEW PRESETS LAYOUT

o Please modify all your preset.ini files YOUR OLD PRESETS WON’T WORK!!!

o Add for each preset ( PRESET_SHOW = “NO”) for more detailed info please read the appropriate section of this manual. ( Advanced settings )

- Tested with more than 200 simcards,

- Modified the way informations from operator card are displayed and the way are read from simcard.

- Added 3G compatibility detection (usefull for some phones to detect incompatible cards ). If your simcard reads “ Card is compatible with 3G Phones ( MOMO MD-1 )” that means is possible for the card to work with 3G phones but is not 100% guaranteed. We will try to improve the detection process also in upcoming updates to help you check faster if a simcard is not compatible with 3G phones. ( Samsung P910 / Momo MD-1 and others ).

- Improved smartcard reader compatibility.

- Tested on MOMO Design MD 1 and MD 2 phones. ( Please use the MOMO Design setting for this phones. ) A lot of simcards are not compatible with MD1 phones, In fact from 200+ simcards that we have only few are working T-Mobile UK some, 3 Hong Kong some, so please use the Read operator card button to check for compatibility ( is not detecting cards 100% yet but we are still working on this ). But be 100% sure if the program will display that is not compatible with 3G phones that means is not compabile for sure.

- Added SHOW DONE option for each setting and preset. ( Default is DISABLED ) Using this option you can choose to force the Mobile Phone to display an UNLOCK DONE message after unlock operation is completed ( Not applicable for Nokia Default and TESTMODE unlock types ).

Best regards and best wishes for all Universal-SIM users !

iPhone 3G 2.2

December 12th, 2008 · 11 Comments

Many people asked me to make a statement on iPhone 2.2  this, and many people also asked me about another iPhone killer :-) TMobile G1.

As i said before and not much has changed iPhone 3G 2.2 is still uncrackable from my point of view. Many solutions claimed during this days since the release of 2.2 that they can unlock 2.2 baseband. I also tried to confirm this and if it’s possible to prepare an update for you. All the solutions i have tested are unreliable and short term, that means will work only some time ( usually 2-3 hours ) and in some cases where you don’t have 3G coverage 1-2 days. Those solutions are the same as some of our users already tested in our forum. I do not advise to use this solutions because might require the use of another mobile phone to get the signal back to your iPhone.

We invented the solution for unlocking iPhone 3G with simcards ( in fact was almost the same solution we discovered long time ago for LG 3G ) and this solution is not working any more starting from baseband 2.2.

Soon we will release another interesting update for normal Universal-SIM users. We improved many things including some Sharp phones and Momo Design ones. We haven’t stopped the research for iPhone 3G as i currently own 2 of them. If there will be a good solution for this we will implement it and let you update your Universal-SIM.

About TMobile G1. It can be unlocked using codes and the codes are cheap enough ( around 20 euro i guess ). For those who want to use it with Universal-SIM use Nokia Default II setting, or Nokia Experimental II setting.

Best regards,

Universal-SIM
