@sam
This you must discuss with your reseller. I am sure he will agree. admin

We do replace damaged Universal-SIM to resellers so should be no problem … Or you can just search for a local Mobile phone repair shop and maybe they already have Universal-SIM for you to test before you buy. admin

Where did you order from? USBFever? If so, which model did you get? Link? Jason
27 Robert // Aug 23, 2008 at 12:43 am
Jason-
GSM Traders is your least expensive solution for obtaining Universal SIM and pkey for shipping to US. Search for these items once you are on the site. Ebay options are more expensive this week. You need the pkey for future SIM card updates. Current version of Universal SIM has thinner FPC (the SIM itself), rounded corners, and the IC ( black microcontroller chip) on SIM has no name. Keep reading the iphone forum and by the time your order arrives you’ll know what to do. Robert

29 Jason // Aug 23, 2008 at 5:56 pm
Robert,
I appreciate the help. I ordered a few of the sims and will be testing them on Tmobile USA 3g within the next few weeks.
Where do we enter this information (the card or the phone?):
The settings are:
1. Use Dummy ATR / SIM / Standard baudrate
2. You can also try: Use card ATR / SIM / Use card default baudrate
Also, before we insert do we turn 3g/data roaming ON or OFF?
Thanks again. Jason

I am in US and I have international SIM card romaing through T-Mobile. I did all as per the video and instruction. My iPhone 3G got the signal through T-Mobile for only 15 minutes. Then I got ‘No Service’ on iPhone. I took my original (international) SIM card from my iPhone and put it back on my old (SonyEricsson) mobile. Following meaasge poped up on my mobile: “Your SIM card is corrupted. Contact your provider.” No even my original SIM card do not work…Please help. frank

32 PrieSt // Aug 26, 2008 at 11:30 am
Hi,
I am using your new model with v5.00. It is perfect with my carrier, always full reception, no no sim or service. Very satisfied. But, my phone seems to drain so much power. I have done everything common on the net to prevent that draining. Is it something to do with the uni-sim? Does v5.40 solve this? Thanks. PrieSt
33 admin // Aug 26, 2008 at 4:14 pm
@PrieSt – How long does your battery lasts?
Yes it is a good idea to try also 540 version. It is better in many ways but i don’t think will solve your problems about draining. Anyway just check and let us know! admin

I’m still confused about this part:
Where do we enter this information (the card or the phone?):
The settings are:
1. Use Dummy ATR / SIM / Standard baudrate
2. You can also try: Use card ATR / SIM / Use card default baudrate Jason
36 Jason // Aug 28, 2008 at 6:14 pm
Edit: I noticed the above settings in the Univ Sim program but I have a new issue.
Where do we find the USB drivers for the PKey? I installed SmartCard 2000 “Pkey-driver.rar” and it did nothing. The computer still doesn’t recognize the unit. Should I insert without sim card in it or use different driver?
Thanks. Jason
37 Jason // Aug 29, 2008 at 12:00 am
Edit: Got it working now. Drivers only seem to work on certain PC’s.
-Had to do special sliding motion to get PKey to recognize univ sim.
-Updated to V540 and everything works on tmobile USA but no 3g here yet (not until october). Jason

42 jill Bill // Sep 4, 2008 at 8:02 am
Hallo admin the Universal sim work great but 3G is only working if i enable Data Roaming !! I have contract and have data flat but if i use data roaming do i have to pay money if i use data roaming in my country ??
Thanks jill Bill
43 admin // Sep 4, 2008 at 1:27 pm
@jill Bill – data roaming does not mean you are charged extra in your country. It means you need to pay more if you go to another country and use data. ( so you can disable data when going to another country ) admin

47 PrieSt // Sep 23, 2008 at 10:39 am
Hi there,
Isn’t there roaming with these chips? I am out of my country and it is “no service”.
Any help is appreciated PrieSt
48 admin // Sep 24, 2008 at 3:34 pm
@PrieSt – Roaming should be ok. The only problem is that you cannot choose the network to roam on. You you have to use the automatically selected one.
For some customers this is really a problem ( the ones that live near the borders of the country ) and might get into roaming by mistake.
Maybe will take some time to find the correct network.
To speed up the process you can take out the card, put it into another unlocked phone and after you have aquired the desired network you should put the card back in iPhone. admin

I just received my new UniSIM with v580 from eBay. My iPhone3g is already active with AT&T in USA. I powered off the phone, removed the AT&T SIM and inserted the UniSIM with a good US TMobile 3G SIM. I get “No Service” and in Settings->General->About->Network I get “None”
I have iPhoe 3G fw 2.1. My UniSIM card is new (rounded edges).
Help? e5j
